Mr. Mack Goldman Hedspeth, 89, died Tuesday morning, January 26, 2021 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Mr. Hedspeth was born on September 9, 1931 in Northampton County, the son of Reuben and Ruth Morgan Hedspeth.  His parents; brothers, Isaac and Frank; and sister, Dorothy, all preceded him in death.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  

Mr. Hedspeth was a mechanic in the textile industry, retiring after 35 years with JP Stevens/ Bibb Co.  

He was a US Army veteran and also served in the Merchant Marines.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Beverly Burkett Hedspeth; son, Randy Hedspeth and wife Robin, of Littleton; daughters, Rhonda H. Claypoole and fiance’ Wayne Hansen, of Roanoke Rapids, Kimberly Wrenn and husband Richard, of Littleton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Due to expected inclement weather the funeral service for Mr. Hedspeth will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 1, 2021 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Pastor Jeremy Kobernat will preside.  Interment will follow and will be held privately at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

Those attending are asked to observe both mask and social distancing recommendations.
