With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Cynthia Mae King.

Cyndi was the much-loved mother of two children, Jamie and Alea.

She was also the proud grandmother of Colton Alan King and Tyler Montana Thompson and her grand dogs, Bayley, Coco, Princess and Layla.

Cyndi was born in Franklin, Virginia on May 29, 1973.

She was raised in Emporia, Virginia by William and Madline Cifers.

She had a large and loving family which included Nichole Gibson and Sherri Bundy.

Another sister, Crystal King predeceased her.

Numerous nieces and nephews survive her.  She is also survived by her faithful companion, Lulu.

Cyndi had a deep relationship with God which guided her life and relationships.

Cyndi loved her family and friends who made up her world.

She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays and family celebrations.

Her best parties were poolside with goggles and rings in hand!  She was a fierce Mama Bear.  She protected her family and friends without thinking of herself.

No amount of time with Cyndi would have been enough for her family and friends, though she gave us enough love and memories to last several lifetimes.

All of us felt honored and privileged to have been a part of Cyndi’s remarkable life.

The family will receive friends and family at Hockaday Funeral Home from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 26th, 2023 and following the visitation the family will gather at the family home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to Rainbow Rescue, 54 Dog Pound Road, Halifax, NC 27839 or The American Stroke Association, Stroke.org
