The Panthers of KIPP was struck twice Tuesday night by the visiting team of the Weldon Chargers.

During the first contest of the evening the Panthers' JV team walked away with a 45-38 win. Both teams ran the ball and was able to get some key rebounds. Weldon got a good game tonight from #32 Jareeck Jones and #35 Jordan Brown.

In the second contest for the evening, the Lady Chargers outscored, out rebounded and out played the ladies from Kipp. Coach Grady was able to give his entire bench playing time. Weldon had several players to score in double digits. The contest ended with Weldon winning 55-9.

The final game between the Chargers and the Panthers was a very run and shoot game during the first quarter. At the beginning of the second quarter both teams seemed to have found their rhythm and played a more defensive game going into halftime with s score of Weldon 40 Panthers 21. In the third quarter the Panthers returned to the court with a little more steam and gave a great effort to close the gap however the were never able to cut the lead to less than 10 points. The Chargers went on to win the game by a score of 66 to 50.

The Chargers will travel to Tarboro on Wednesday to take in North East Carolina Prep and return to play at home on Friday against the Northampton Jaguars.
