Lieutenant Charles Vaught of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said this morning 11 windows were taken from the residence as well as a freezer, refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer.
Also taken were two trailers, one which has been recovered. The other is a military surplus trailer which has yet to be recovered. A van, which was recovered, was also taken.
On Tuesday, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office served warrants on William Lewis Moncure, 27, of Roanoke Rapids.
He faces charges of obtaining property by false pretense; breaking and entering; larceny after breaking and entering; four counts of possession of stolen goods; three counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and injury to property.
Moncure, who was already in jail on unrelated charges, received a $12,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in district court today.
In a statement, Chief Chuck Hasty said the charges stem from an investigation by Vaught into a report filed on February 19 by the victims items had been removed from inside and outside the house.
Moncure had already been arrested on Friday for charges unrelated to the Franklin Street crime by Lieutenant J. Bozard and deputies M. Bishop and A. Cash. Moncure was arrested on Wendover Lane.

The police department also filed warrants for the arrests of Noah Dylan Powers, 22, and Michael Wayne Brown, 43, for their alleged involvement in the Franklin Street crime.
The Roanoke Rapids men typically frequent the area of Wendover Lane, Vaught said and are friends or associates of Moncure.
Vaught said the obtaining property by false pretense count reflects some of the stolen items were sold as scrap.
