Justin Ryan Bridges, 21, of Dawsonville, Georgia, was returned to Northampton County Wednesday after his September 2 arrest in Williamsburg, Virginia, for allegedly popping an expensive balloon sculpture.
Captain Chuck Hasty of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office said events that led to Bridges' arrest began when a 2004 GMC pickup was stolen from a residence on Conoconnara Trail in the Henrico area of Lake Gaston.
Deputy Ikeisha Jacobs spoke with the victim who reported someone had entered his garage area and stole the truck.
The case was turned over to Investigator Courtney Williams, who developed various leads in the case that led to Virginia Beach.
With help from Virginia law enforcement the truck was located August 25 in Newport News and Williams obtained warrants for the arrest of Bridges for felony breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle.
Williamsburg police put a hold on Bridges after a fugitive warrant was issued by Northampton County for his arrest.
Bridges was served the Northampton warrants Wednesday and jailed om $20,000 bond.
The stolen vehicle was recovered without damage, although several items were missing from inside.
Williams continues to investigate for additional charges.
