The Weldon Police Department is investigating a robbery which occurred shortly before 8:15 p.m. Sunday at the Family Dollar on Second Street and the Northampton County Sheriff's Office is investigating one which occurred shortly after 11:45 p.m.
When a store clerk was having problems opening the cash register during a robbery Sunday night, the suspect instead demanded he be given two cartons of Newport cigarettes and then fled the store.
