Vernon Bryant will continue his tenure as chair of the Halifax County Board of Commissioners following his reappointment today.
History was made in Halifax County today as the first Black Republican since Reconstruction and the first member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe took the oath of office to serve on the board of commissioners.

The 2022 Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade marched down Roanoke Avenue this afternoon.
The Roanoke Rapids police and fire departments, along with Citizens on Patrol and help from Roanoke Rapids Early College as well as others, held the annual Christmas for Kids shopping spree this morning at Walmart.
