The Weldon Police Department today released video footage of its armed robbery Sunday night and is working with Roanoke Rapids and Northampton County on their robberies, which also occurred Sunday.

Footage of the Weldon robbery may be seen by scrolling down to the end of the page.

It is not clear whether the robbery of the Family Dollar store in Weldon is related to the ones in Northampton and Roanoke Rapids but Lieutenant Chris Davis of the Weldon Police Department said all agencies are working together.

The Roanoke Rapids and Northampton robberies appear to be similar, the only difference being the color of the suspect’s hooded jackets.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department could not with certainty say the robbery in the city and the one in Northampton are related but are working with Northampton to determine if there are links.
