A Hollister man has been charged in a Wednesday night cutting, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Lieutenant George Evans said deputies J. Keeter, R. Wade and B. Hedgepeth arrived at Journigan's Food Store in Hollister around the 10 p.m. and determined a male victim had been cut in the chest with a single edge razor and had a laceration on the left side.

Investigation led to the arrest of Calvin Blake Richardson, 28, at a house not far from the store.

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and jailed on $25,000 bond.

Lockey Ray Richardson, 45, the victim, was treated and released, but Keeter found a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia on him and cited him with a court date of March 14.

Calvin Richardson, who is not related to the victim, also has a March 14 court date. The motive is not known.
