A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged Saturday with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill following a domestic dispute.

Lieutenant Neil Aycock of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy D.C. Dickens responded to Melody Lane in the Roanoke Rapids area where he learned the make victim was stabbed in the chest.

Deputy Dickens charged Kisha Neshawn Hunter and she was jailed without opportunity for bond and is awaiting an April 18 court date.

The victim was transported to Halifax Regional Medical Center where he was treated.
