Jacob Davis notified Judge Alma Hinton today he would hire an attorney to represent him in a probation revocation case that has the potential to send him to prison.

Davis was on the docket today, according to District Attorney Melissa Pelfrey. The district attorney said Davis waived his right to a court appointed attorney and his case was continued until April 16.

The probation revocation case comes after a string of charges were filed against the 22-year-old Roanoke Rapids after he received five years probation last year for a series of break-ins in 2010.

Davis remains in custody in the Halifax County Jail.
