More evidence of gang activity was allegedly found on an Enfield man who was previously arrested in March.

On Monday afternoon shortly before 2:45 Halifax County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents J. Puhak and A. Harris attempted to stop Donald Lashard “Petey-Roo” Crews in the area of Franklin and Freedom streets.

The agents were seeking Crews on an unauthorized substance tax warrant.

Crews, allegedly a validated member of a local gang, led the officers on a brief chase on his bicycle after Puhak activated blue lights and gave commands for him to stop.

Crews was apprehended, allegedly in mid efforts to destroy evidence of a gun, marijuana packaged for sale and suspected drug money.

All items were seized and Crews was taken into custody peacefully.

Crews was charged as follows:  possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, carrying a concealed gun and resisting a public officer.

He was given a $5,000 secured bond with an initial court appearance date of June 6.

Agents were able to recover the drugs and gun that Crews allegedly attempted to destroy.

Puhak could not be reached for additional comment.
