The man wanted in a Tuesday morning kidnapping was arrested Wednesday night, along with his girlfriend who was the victim in the case.

Lieutenant Bobby Martin of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said investigators received information that Jesse James Bridgers Jr. was at Halifax Regional Medical Center where the crime originally occurred.

Bridgers was arrested shortly after 6 p.m.

His girlfriend, Angel Williams, who was the victim in the case, was also arrested because she was at the hospital with him and didn’t notify law enforcement, Martin said.

Martin declined to say why the two were at the hospital.

Williams was charged with felony harboring a fugitive and jailed on $5,000 bond. She has a June 6 court date.

Bridgers was charged with second-degree kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and larceny of a motor vehicle.

He was jailed without opportunity for bond under domestic violence laws.
