The man wanted in a Monday home invasion turned himself to Roanoke Rapids police Thursday morning.

The police department also arrested two people for accessory after the fact in the case, Captain Andy Jackson said.

Jackson said Steven Belcher walked in the back door of the police department around 11 a.m. and was charged with armed robbery, one count of breaking and entering and two counts of assault by pointing a gun.

Further investigation also resulted in the arrests of Danielle Atkins, 38, and her mother, Ilene Belcher, 63, who is also Steven Belcher’s aunt.

The two were charged with accessory after the fact after they allegedly tried to hinder the investigation by allegedly hiding several firearms outside their residence in the Brandy Creek community.

Steven Belcher was jailed on $25,000 bond while the two women charged as accessories were given $1,500 bonds and have July 25 court dates.

Jackson said the case remains under investigation.
