Three juveniles were taken into custody early this morning following a breaking and entering at the Village Grocery on Roanoke Avenue.

Roanoke Rapids Police Department’s D Squad received a call from Halifax Central Communications just after midnight that a citizen driving by the store near KapStone saw a suspicious male with a gun beating on the glass.

Lieutenant O.L. Morgan arrived and noticed the drive-through window was broken out and noticed holes had been shot into three glass windows with BBs.

Extensive investigation by D Squad, Morgan and Detective Jeff Baggett led to the arrests of three juveniles.

A 14-year-old was charged with breaking and entering, criminal damage to property and conspiracy.

A 10-year-old and 15-year-old were charged with aiding and abetting, criminal damage to property and conspiracy.

Entry was made into the store but nothing was taken, according to Captain Andy Jackson.
