Alonzo Tillery will spend 14 to 18 years in prison for a January 2009 murder and shooting.
Tillery, 35, pled guilty today to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Patrick O’Neill Crowell and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in the shooting of another victim who survived.
Tillery was sentenced to 143 to 181 months for the murder and 25 to 39 months for the shooting, which occurred in the 900 block of Henry Street on January 17, 2009, a few minutes before midnight.
When police arrived that evening they found one victim lying on the porch of 924 Henry Street and Crowell, 30, of Weldon, inside a house on 921 Henry Street.
Tillery was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree murder along with marijuana sales charges. Those charges were dropped for the plea.
