The Enfield Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred shortly before 1:45 this morning.

Officers were called to the M&C Mart at 129 South McDaniel Street and determined two black males wearing masks entered the store. One person displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The men left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a press release from Lieutenant Jerry D. Powell.

They were last scene running behind the store. A perimeter was established and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office performed a canine track that did not locate the suspects.

One suspect is described as a black male standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. Police were unable to get a good description of the second suspect.
