A 23-year-old Rocky Mount woman died in a car crash on Justice Branch Road Wednesday night.

Lindsay Budnick was traveling east on Justice Branch about 13 miles west of Halifax when the crash occurred, according to a preliminary report by Trooper D.P. Efird of the state Highway Patrol.

She ran off the road and onto the right shoulder, overcorrected and came back on the roadway where her vehicle was struck in the passenger side by another vehicle.

There was no information on the driver of the second vehicle in the preliminary report.
