The Royal Palace Theatre will hold auditions for its first theatrical production since moving into the 1500 seat state-of-the-art theatre on I-95 two months ago.
Singers and actors of all ages are encouraged to attend the audition on Saturday, November 10th from 2 to 5pm at the theatre at 500 Carolina Crossroads in Roanoke Rapids. The cast will have the great pleasure of working on stage with TV icon Joyce DeWitt who played Janet on ABC’s Three’s Company for nine seasons.
“We have had several great runs of this play in Nashville and we are delighted to bring it to North Carolina this Christmas,” admits DeWitt, who just finished a show on Broadway and resides in New Mexico. “The play is both funny and heartwarming and is an all-around great experience for both the cast and the audience.”
Kaine Riggan, a Henderson native who wrote the script for the musical along with Nashville songwriters including Randy Travis and T. Graham Brown, says he will be filling singing and non-singing roles from ages 8 to 80.
A full description of the characters and available roles can be found on the theatre’s website at www.RoyalPalaceTheatre.com .
Prospective cast members should be prepared to read from the script and bring sheet music or pre-recorded accompaniment if they will be singing. A piano accompanist will be provided.
The play will rehearse in Roanoke Rapids in the evenings and on weekends beginning November 18th. The musical comedy will run for four performances December 11-14.
