Two more people were picked up today on the Operation Summer Heat Wave narcotics sting conducted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

“We had multiple targets and several identified,” said Lieutenant Scott Hall. “These are just more. We’ll continue picking up people through that operation throughout the winter.”

Today, agents J. Puhak and A. Harris arrested Antoine Delmont Williams, 33, of the Weldon area and charged him with sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to store a controlled substance.  Williams was placed in the Halifax County Jail under a $10,000 cash bond.

Puhak and Harris also arrested Joe Lee Hampton, 48, of the Weldon area and charged him with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II, sell schedule II, deliver Schedule II and sell a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Hampton was placed in the Halifax County Jail under $10,000 secured bond.

Both men have February 6 court dates pending.
