Tyree Davis, a former Halifax County Sheriff’s Office detective, has applied for the appointment to fill the unexpired term of Sheriff Jeff Frazier.

Davis, who continues to be a part-time deputy in Halifax County, said he has already mailed his letter of intent to County Manager Tony Brown.

Davis, of Enfield, currently runs a trucking company, T.A. Davis Freight.

He joins current Chief Deputy Wes Tripp, Northampton County school resource officer Chuck Hasty, current Weldon Police Chief Mark Macon and former Halifax County Chief Deputy James Warren as those interested in the position.
