The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office scored a double play when it arrested identical twins for allegedly stealing appliances and tractor parts.

The sheriff’s office received a report on April 6 of a breaking and entering on Sam Powell Dairy Road where appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioning units, along with chairs, were stolen.

Detective R. Somogyi assisted Lieutenant George Evans in the investigation and determined the items were allegedly sold to salvage yards in Halifax and Warren counties.

Further investigation led Somogyi to obtain warrants for the arrests of Terrell and Tirrell Simmons, both 23, of Roanoke Rapids.

They face charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

They were also issued warrants for larceny and possession of stolen goods for the theft of several tractor parts from a farm in Littleton, Somogyi said in a news release.

Deputy Dreher Bozard located the brothers and arrested them.

They have $10,000 bonds and a May 29 court date.
