Citizen complaints and a seven-week investigation culminated this morning with the arrest of an Enfield man on marijuana counts in the Brigadier Lane area.
Led by Lieutenant H.G. Phillips, narcotics agents and the Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team, seized 655.7 grams of marijuana and more than $2,300 in cash, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said this afternoon.
The marijuana, which was found through the help of Phillips's dog Josh, was packaged in several bags. Agents also seized two handguns, a cup with marijuana residue, a pack of Cigarillos, a digital scale, six boxes of plastic bags, a bag of small plastic bags, vacuum seal bags, a vacuum sealer and two boxes of clear valves.
The raid, which took place shortly before 6 this morning, resulted in the arrest of Keno Trevell Jones, 42.
Phillips arrested and charged Jones with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a firearm.
Convicted in 2001 for cocaine and marijuana sales, along with paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling counts, he was jailed on $50,000 secured bond. He awaits a February 25 court date.
