A Halifax man who failed to complete work that was to start in July was arrested today, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Detective B.C. Griffin said Eric Wayne Smith, 44, received more than $30,000 for material and labor to do a home improvement job in the Halifax area. Some work was done but the job was never completed.

Griffin charged Smith with failing to work after being paid.

Smith received a $5,000 bond and January 20 court date.
