Joyce Marie Melvin Edwards, age 68 of Garysburg, NC passed away March 31, 2011 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

Joyce was born on November 3, 1942, in Franklin, VA the daughter of the late Brink Melvin and Maude Johnson Melvin Price. She was also preceded in death by her step father Russell Price and a son Donnie Ray Edwards.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie “W.D.” Lee Edwards of Garysburg, NC., Her daughter, Donna Wilson and husband Tony of Stony Creek, VA., Her two brothers Paul Melvin and Marvin Melvin and wife Marie all of Roanoke Rapids, NC., Her five grandchildren, Devin and Alyssa Lassiter, Lisa, David, and Tyler Wilson. A special friend, just like a  her son James “Rex” Crowley of Charlotte, NC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4,2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Donald Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards Family Cemetery in Garysburg, NC.  The family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Massey Funeral Home Roanoke Rapids, NC from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
