The Unity in the Community basketball game has been changed to the Roanoke Rapids High School gym starting at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Deputy Chief James Avens of the Weldon Police Department said construction at Weldon High School, where the game was originally planned, forced the change.

The game is a benefit for Esquires for Education and is designed to promote unity between local law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Law enforcement officers in Halifax County, Northampton County, Roanoke Rapids, and Weldon will team up with young men in their community to vie for the title of Unity Champions.

Admission is $5.
