A Henrico man has been charged in the June 13 robbery of an Emporia area store.

Captain Chuck Hasty of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office said the Greensville County Sheriff's Office needed assistance in looking for Daton Kwame Jordan, 22.

Jordan was wanted for the robbery of Woodruff's Store on Brink Road.

Both agencies Tuesday checked one residence but found no one.

While on the way to a second address, Northampton Investigator Courtney Williams saw Jordan standing in a yard on River Road in Henrico.

Jordan reportedly attempted to run when he saw Williams pull in the yard but was taken into custody.

He was wanted by Greensville County for robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, pointing a firearm, wearing a mask in certain places and two counts of grand larceny.

Jordan was taken to the Northampton County Sheriff’ Office and charged on a fugitive warrant. He was given a $300,000 bond and awaits extradition.

Williams and Investigator Altessie Taylor worked with Greensville County on the case, Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith said. “The cooperation between the agencies worked well with getting this subject in custody. The agencies had been working together on this for a couple of days. When agencies work and share information it helps keep the citizens safe.”
