A Roanoke Rapids man surrendered to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday after learning he was indicted on heroin trafficking charges stemming from a September investigation by the Down East Drug Task Force.
Evidence of a meth lab was discovered last week in Northampton County and three people have been arrested, according to a statement released by Sheriff Jack Smith today.

A reputed Rich Square drug dealer was arrested on heroin and cocaine trafficking charges Friday as a result of an investigation by the Down East Drug Task Force.
True bills of indictment were returned against another alleged suspect charged in the Operation First Wave roundup in Northampton County.
A recently formed drug task force encompassing Bertie, Hertford and Northampton counties is reporting its first arrests.
