Headed into its first budget work session for the upcoming fiscal year, Roanoke Rapids City Manager Joseph Scherer told council this evening he is still awaiting key revenue projections from the League of Municipalities.
Terry Louis Kearney Jr., wanted in a Sunday afternoon shooting, surrendered to Roanoke Rapids police today.

Roanoke Rapids police are looking for Terry Louis Kearney Jr., a 19-year-old who victims say fired shots at them Sunday afternoon.
A man charged in the April 3, 2008 murder of Jerry Yellorday, a case in which no probable cause was found for all those charged, was placed on $1 million bond last week after a shooting at Creekside Court.
