Halifax County Sheriff’s Office narcotics and uniformed officers seized 50 grams of high-grade marijuana today after delivering a search warrant in the Highway 903 area of Halifax.
The arrest of Terik Andre Jerman was the result of a joint investigation between the two units of the sheriff’s office, according to a news release from Narcotics Agent J. Puhak.
Lieutenant Scott Hall said upon arriving at Jerman’s house, the pungent odor of the Kush, a strong variety of pot, was overwhelming.
As officers talked to Jerman from the outside of the house, Hall said the man suddenly retreated inside, forcing officers to secure the residence and request a search warrant to go inside.
Puhak said in the news release about 50 grams of Kush was found, the street value $1,000 to $2,000.
Also seized during the raid was a large collection of paraphernalia, including pipes, bongs, rolling devices and containers.
Jerman, whose arrest Puhak credited to the groundwork of Deputy C. Boden, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possess drug paraphernalia, felony possession of marijuana, resisting a public officer during the discharge of his duties and felony maintain a dwelling for the purpose of a controlled substance.
He was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a June 6 court date.
