The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon handed over investigation of what is believed to be a suicide to the State Bureau of Investigation.
Captain Jay Burch said the sheriff’s office responded to a call of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Bolling Road.
The SBI was called in when it was learned narcotics agents from the Roanoke Rapids Police Department went to serve a warrant at the house.
No further details were immediately available.
