The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office filed felony warrants against an Enfield resident who faces charges in a Saturday evening sexual assault.
Detective Willie Murphy Jr. charged Isalas Leiva Rosales. 56, with assault on a female and first-degree rape.
The charges stem from an investigation by Murphy charging Rosales, who is an acquaintance of the victim, allegedly assaulted her and committed sexual acts.
Murphy said in a statement Sergeants R.D. Bozard and C. Boden developed the man as an alleged suspect after an initial investigation.
Rosales fled the scene on foot and was later tracked and caught without trouble by Boden and his dog Dusko.
Rosales was jailed on $100,000 bond and has an October 21 court date.
