City may give employees 3 percent adjustment

The city plans to scrap curbside recycling for the upcoming fiscal year, and instead plans to give employees a 3 percent cost of living adjustment.

City budget available for online inspection

The city's proposed budget plan for the next fiscal year is one that doesn't call for a tax increase and will most likely use installment financing to fund capital needs, City Manager Joseph Scherer said today.

A motion that would offer a lease agreement to run the Roanoke Rapids Theatre to local investors failed by a 3-2 motion this evening.

Users of the Roanoke Rapids Aquatic Center made pleas this evening to find a way to replace a crucial dehumidifier that forced the city to change the temperature of the water until a solution can be found.
