Second prostitution arrest made in Weldon

A second prostitution arrest has been made in Weldon in less than a week’s time, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple media outlets today are reporting the death of a Roanoke Rapids man who was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies following an armed robbery and subsequent chase that ended in Wilson County Sunday morning.

A Roanoke Rapids man was jailed Saturday after he not only allegedly assaulted his stepfather but a Roanoke Rapids police officer as well.

Arrest made, warrant issued in rack thefts

Citizen tips and an image from the town’s camera system have helped to lead to the arrest of a Garysburg man for allegedly stealing 10 newspaper racks.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is looking for any shred of information that may account for the whereabouts of Amy Wells Bridgeman.
