A vehicle believed to be involved in a hit and run this morning was found in the Three Bridges Road area unoccupied, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Adult, juvenile charged in Sheetz heist

A 24-year-old  Littleton man was charged this morning in the armed robbery of Sheetz.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run this morning on Carolina Rest Home Road in which a sanitation worker was struck.

The potential buyers of the Roanoke Rapids Theater received a third extension this evening — one which comes with a $5,000 per week provision to be paid to the city for every week after May 30 should Tom and Eva McClean opt to not execute the contract.

Thursday’s Arts on the Avenue will showcase the work of some 20 artists, photographers, singers and musicians as well as give the public a view of the 1026 Roanoke Avenue green space.

RRPD probes Sheetz robbery

Roanoke Rapids police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at Sheetz early Saturday morning.

A daughter’s last conversation with her father, who ultimately would be killed in the line of duty, was, “I just wanted to tell you I love you.”
